keep on going…Elder Thaddeus of Vitovnica
Come
unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you
rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly
in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is
easy, and my burden is light.( MATTHEW -11,28-30 )
Elder Thaddeus of Vitovnica
“All of us sin constantly. We slip and fall. In reality, we fall into a trap set by the demons.
The Holy Fathers and the Saints always tell us, ‘It is important to get up immediately after a fall and to keep on walking toward God’. Even if we fall a hundred times a day, it does not matter; we must get up and go on walking toward God without looking back.
What has happened has happened – it is in the past. Just keep on going, all the while asking for help from God.”
Elder Thaddeus of Vitovnica, Our Thoughts Determine our Lives
St. John of Karpathos
“My brethren, do all that is in your power not to fall, for the strong athlete should not fall, but, if you do fall, get up again at once, and continue the contest. Even if you fall a thousand times, because of the withdrawal of God’s grace, rise up again at each time, and keep on doing so until the day of your death.
For it is written: ‘If a righteous man falls seven times,’ that is,
repeatedly throughout his life, ‘seven times shall he rise again’
[Proverbs 24:16].”
The Father is my hope, the Son my refuge, the Holy Spirit my protection: All-Holy Trinity, glory to You!
Our Father,
Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be
done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into
temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
PSALM 69
Draw
nigh, O God, to my help. 2 Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek
my soul: let them be turned backward and put to shame, that wish me
evil. 3 Let them that say to me, Aha, aha, be turned back and put to
shame immediately. 4 Let all that seek thee exult and be glad in thee:
and let those that love thy salvation say continually, Let God be
magnified. 5 But I am poor and needy; O God, help me: thou art my helper
and deliverer, O Lord, delay not.
