God does not grant big endowments without great temptations. St Isaac the Syrian

Be at peace with your own soul then heaven & earth will be at peace with you…The ladder that leads to the Kingdom is hidden within your soul..Dive into yourself and in your soul and you will discover the stairs by which to ascend.

Words of Eternal Life by St Isaac the Syrian

Silence is a mystery of the age to come, but words are instruments of this world.

The assembly of the humble is loved of God just as the assembly of the seraphim.

Be peaceful within yourself, and heaven and earth will be at peace with you. Be diligent to enter into the treasury that is within you, and you will see the treasury of Heaven: for these are one and the same, and with one entry you will behold them both. The ladder of the Kingdom is within you, hidden in your soul. Plunge deeply within yourself, away from sin, and there you will find steps by which you will be able to ascend.

A handful of sand, thrown into the sea, is what sinning is, when compared to God’s Providence and mercy. Just like an abundant source of water is not impeded by a handful of dust, so does the Creator’s mercy not defeated by the sins of His creations.

Justice does not belong to the Christian way of life and there is no mention of it in Christ’s teaching. Rejoice with the joyous and weep with those who weep; for this is the sign of purity. Suffer with those who are ill and mourn with sinners; with those who repent, rejoice. Be every man’s friend, but in your mind remain alone.Be a partaker in the sufferings of all men, but keep your body distant from all. Rebuke no one, revile no one, not even men who live very wickedly. Spread your cloak over the man who is falling and cover him. And if you cannot take upon yourself his sins and receive his chastisement in his stead, then at least patiently suffer his shame and do not disgrace him.

God does not grant big endowments without great temptations. God determines temptations commensurate to endowments.

God is close to the heart of the one that cries out to Him in sorrow.

The limitless power of God dwells in the Cross…

The path of God is a daily cross.

There is no other path to draw closer to Christ other than the path of sorrows.

Let yourself be persecuted, but do not persecute others.Be crucified, but do not crucify others.Be slandered, but do not slander others.Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep: such is the sign of purity.

Do not rely on your own strength so that God doesn’t allow you to fall because of your weakness — and thus learn of your feebleness through bitter experience.

. In whatever a person is lauded, God allows him to change by sending him a failure so that through it, he may learn humility.

He who shows kindness toward the poor has God as his guardian, and he who becomes poor for the sake of God will acquire abundant treasures. God is pleased when He sees people showing concern for others for His sake.

Through God’s providence, he who respects every person for God’s sake, privately acquires help from every human being.

Troparion of St Isaac the Syrian in Tone V

Illumined by rays of the virtues, O God-bearer Isaac, in spirit thou wast shown to be an all-radiant beacon of the life which is in Christ; and by thine divinely inspired teachings, O father, thou dost guide safely to the way of salvation those who bless thee as a godly servant of Christ.

By the prayers of St Isaac the Syrian, O Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and save us!
